Carolyn S. Abney Obituary

Carolyn S. (Wilson) Abney, 75, Anderson, died Nov. 3, 2010, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born May 24, 1935, in Anderson, and resided in Anderson all of her life. Carolyn was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Robinson of Anderson; brother, Sammy Wilson; grandchildren, Amber Robinson, Amanda Smith and Addie Rice; great-grandchildren, Donavan Ball, Zowie Ball, Collin Ball and Evelyn Smith; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Effie Evans; and special cousin, Janice Shaw (Kelly). She was preceded in death by her father and mother, William and Else (Bates) Wilson; husband, William Abney; daughter, Evelyn Gross; siblings, William Wilson, Robert Johnson, Herman "Bud" Wilson, Paul Wilson, Ilene Verchette, Marjorie Whiteman, Joanne Harney, and Betty Niccum; three grandsons, David Robinson, William Murdock and Jimmy Murdock; and great-grandchild, Christian Moreno. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Whiteman officiating. Cremation will take place.
