Anderson, Indiana - Carolyn Sue Carpenter, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully passed away at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on May 27, 2026, in Anderson, Indiana. Born on Oct. 15, 1938, in Winchester, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Iris (Reece) Bullen.

Carolyn lived a life filled with love and creativity. After graduating from Winchester High School, she went on to work at Anderson Municipal Airport and later at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, where she made countless connections along the way. She was an active member of the Anderson First Church of the Nazarene, where her quiet, caring nature touched many lives.

Carolyn had a knack for collecting, with a special fondness for dolls, teddy bears, Longaberger baskets, and Fiestaware, each piece telling a unique story. She was known for her soft-spoken demeanor and her ability to make those around her feel cherished and appreciated.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Arvin Carpenter, along with her loving children: Becky (Jim) Green, Brett (Jackie) Carpenter Sr., and Betsy (Ron) Patterson. Carolyn also leaves behind a beautiful legacy of grandchildren, including Krista (Geep) Harrison, Ryan (Brittany) Green, Kristian (Chelsie Alvarez) Green, Brett (Cherith) Carpenter Jr., Justin (Brandi) Carpenter, Amanda Anacleto, Denay (Michael) Oh, and Danielle (Andrew) Quick, as well as 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, her twin sister Marilyn Baldwin, and her infant daughter, Beth Suzanne Carpenter.

Friends and family can gather to pay their respects during visitation at Bozell Funeral Homes & Crematory, Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana, on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester immediately following the service.
