Anderson, IN - Clyde Lester Harting, 92, of Anderson, passed away after a brief illness on March 6, 2026.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1933, in Mount Comfort, Indiana. He shared 63 years with his beloved wife, Rowena Long Harting.
Clyde was a U.S. Army veteran. He graduated from Anderson University and dedicated much of his career to teaching. Clyde and Rowena were Church of God missionaries in Kenya, East Africa. Following teaching careers in Anderson, Pendleton, and Southern California, retirement was enjoyed in Anderson.
Clyde was an active member of Park Place Church of God. He loved creative writing, building with Legos and traveling.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Rowena; brothers, Wayne Harting and Fred (Becky) Harting; and his sister, Gladys (Charlie) Sowders; several nieces and nephews.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Delyte (Leslie) Harting; brother, Carl Byron Harting; and sisters, Naomi Hull, Thelma Miller, and Carol Wilcox.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2026, at Park Place Church of God with Dr. Jonathan Grubbs officiating. He was buried on March 26, 2026, at Marion National Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday in the Bessie Byrum lounge.
