Dale Delbert Dyer
Dale Delbert Dyer, 81, went to Heaven during the evening of Jan. 6, 2020, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
Dale was born Aug. 5, 1938, in Flint, Michigan, to Upton and Margaret Dyer. Dale and Roberta (Edson) Dyer were married at West Court Street Church of God, Flint, Michigan, worshipped at South Meridian Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, during their courtship, Linden Lane Church of God, Chesterfield, Indiana, while raising their young family, and then East Side Church of God, Anderson, Indiana, for over 30 years.
He enjoyed being out in nature (arrowhead hunting), listening to barbershop quartets, Nat King Cole, and the music of Damaris Carbaugh. He was very proud of the fruits of his labor; whether it was from his garden, raising rabbits or fish, or caring for his orchids. He also volunteered for Operation Love Ministries (Anderson) and Man4Man, that provides transitional support for recently released inmates to reintegrate back into society.
Dale would attest that his greatest contribution was having a family. There wasn't anything better, in his mind than family.
He is survived by his children, Carol Dyer, Colleen Lyons (Lou), James Dyer (Sang-Eun), Cayla Dyer (Laura) and Joan Williams (Tim); grandchildren, Lauren Markitanova (Demitri,) Lydia Lyons, Sydney Lyons, Iris Dyer, Isaac Dyer, and Anais Dyer; and great-grandchildren, Thaddeus Markitanov and Phineus Markitanov.
Preceding Dale in death are his parents; wife, Roberta; and infant daughter, Sarah Lou.
Service is on Monday, Jan. 13, at 5:15 p.m. at East Side Church of God, 2600 E. Fifth St., Anderson, with Rev. Dr. Glendon "Glen" Keith Cox (Anderson College: BA '70, Anderson School of Theology: MDiv '73, Christian Theological Seminary: DMin) officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 5:15 p.m. prior to the service.
Cremation rites were accorded through Legacy Cremation and Funeral Service-Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Man4Man Ministries, 415 Main St., Anderson, IN 46016; donating online: http://man4manministries.com Click "Donate".

We will always miss conversations with Dale at family gatherings. I know how much family meant to him. All the many trips to Michigan to be with family and friends and costs to him. He came any ways in good or bad weather. He will be missed. He is now reunited with my sister, his wife and his God. May Gods peace be his family now and forever. In loving memories. Remembering Attending East Side with Dale, Roberta and family, but special memories of being in Embers SS class for many years with him and Roberta. I know their heavenly reunion has been quite the celebration of the wholeness of healing. Our sincere condolences to the entire family.

Sad to read of Dale's passing. Many good memories of working together @ Operation Love & after. We remember especially the sweet celebration hosted by Dale & Roberta's children for their 50th anniversary. Sad, but not sorry, knowing he is now present in the presence of the King. Rejoice.
