Dave  Holt Jr.
ANDERSON [mdash] Dave Holt Jr., 60, passed away peacefully at home after an extended illness.
He was born July 14, 1959, in Anderson, to Dave Sr. and Rosa Holt. He attended Anderson Community Schools graduating from Madison Heights High School Class of '77. Dave Jr. was an avid sportsman from an early age; his talents included basketball, baseball, track and wrestling.
Jr. often worked alongside his father at Holts Electric Company servicing the Madison County businesses and residents with their electrical needs for nearly five decades. Dave Jr. furthered his education at I.T.T Institute. Dave Jr. was employed with Anderson Herald Bulletin and St. John's (St. Vincent) Medical Center. He had the honor of retiring August 2018 with 40 years of dedicated service.
Jr. loved people, in his spare time he enjoyed building homes with Habitat for Humanity. You could catch Jr. driving his Cadillac enjoying his music, checking out the scenery, spending time with his family, buddies, and co-workers, except for Monday nights. Those were for WWF wrestling only.
Dave Jr. leaves to cherish his memory children, Artez (Tia) Holt, Mercedes (Zak) Holt; grandchildren, Amara, Ayana, Ardavion, and Abram Holt, Brock Rose, Bronsin Buck, Timiah Long and Willie Perry; loving and dedicated twin sister, Daisy M. Holt, Janette (Robert) Lett, Patricia Tate; brother, Junior (Lisa) Tate, Anderson; aunts, Catherine Buchanan, New Jersey, Betty Holms, Georgia; uncles, Harold Henderson Jr., Charles (Marilyn) Henderson, Alabama, and John Henderson, Maryland; nieces, T'Nelle "DD" Edwards and Rosanna Lett; nephew, Solomon (Samara) Fitzgerald; special nephew, JaRu Holt; special relatives, Betty Richardson, Mary Richardson, Denise Fuller, Larenda Richardson, Texas, Stacy Richardson, Marshall Richardson, Gloria Stevenson, Louise Jones, Lois Richardson, Joseph "Dinky" Foster, Alabama, Janice (Michael) O'Neal-Fairley, New Jersey, and the Rush family; followed by a host of cousins, relatives, buddies, co-workers, school mates and friends.
Dave Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa M. Holt, Dave Holt Sr.; grandparents, Harold and Matilda Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mattie Crump; uncle, Richard Henderson; aunts, Laura Stevenson, Martha Williams, Lurlean Dabney, Easter Richardson, and Annie Miller, Marvin "Merv" Richardson and Dennis Fuller.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019, at Anderson Zion Baptist Church. The viewing will be at the church from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.
