David Louis Suchocki Sr., 77, of Pendleton, passed away on Jan. 14, 2024, at Bethany Pointe Health Campus after an extended illness.

He was born on Feb. 14, 1946, to J. Raymond Suchocki and Barbara (Johnson) Roberts.

David graduated from Short Ridge High School class of 1964. David went on to serve his country in the United States Army. After serving his country, he worked 37 years for Department of Corrections, retiring as Major in 2005.

He was involved in many different organizations including a past commander in the AMVETS Post #26; previous member of the Elks, Moose and American Legion in Bradenton, Florida. David loved fishing and boating with his friends and family, especially in Tennessee and Kentucky. He enjoyed attending car shows and loved spending winters in Bradenton, Florida. He was the organizer of the Johnson Family Reunion for many years. Above all, David was a family man and loved his family very much. He enjoyed going to athletic and academic events for his kids, grandkids. You could often find David at these events with a hotdog in his hand. In the 1980's he was well-known in the Anderson Bingo Community.

David is survived by his wife whom he married on Oct. 11, 1996, Janeen (Isaacs) Suchocki; his children, Jeannette (Dusty) Brown, Michelle Rowland, Janice (Chris) Hall, DJ (Kelli) Suchocki; stepchildren, Michael Webster, Shelley Webster Byers, and Josh (Angie) Webster; grandchildren, Joel Smith, Jacob (Emily) Smith, Jay (Amanda) Smith, Karac (Christi) Aynes, Taylor (Cheyenne) Sanderson, Hannah (C.J.) Rowland, Courtney Rowland, Maddee Rowland, Ryane (Ridge) Long, Mason Long, Bryson Hall, Quade Hall, Kaden Suchocki, Eli Suchocki, Trinity Harmon, Alex (Bristol) Webster, Allegra (Jonah) Gray, Morgan (Logan) Webster, and Quentin Byers; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild on the way; sister, Janice (Bill) Case; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Isbell, Lisa (Mike) Bare, Shelby (Fred) St. John; Brother-in-law, Dallas (Buffy) Isaacs; mother-in-law, Myrna Isaacs.

David is also survived by several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his biological parents; his second father, Harry Shock; mother and father-in-law, Virginia Eglen and Jack Isaacs; his first wife and mother of his children, Gisela Suchocki; and a son-in-law, Jeff Smith.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson.

A short service will take place following the visiting hours at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton.
