Anderson, IN - Diann Kay Young, 62, of Anderson, passed away on Aug. 21, 2026, at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California.

She was born on July 8, 1964, in Danville, Indiana, to her parents, Rebecca and Richard Yockey.

Diann graduated from high school in New Albany, Indiana. After graduation, she married and began building her family, welcoming two sons whom she loved dearly. Early in her career, Diann worked for the Printing House for the Blind. She later relocated to Anderson to be closer to her parents, where she continued her career in customer care, dedicating 25 years to helping and serving others before beginning a well-deserved retirement.

Diann was a very sweet and thankful person, and a wonderful mother with a large heart and an incredible capacity for kindness. She had a wonderfully goofy sense of humor and loved to laugh. She had a special gift for turning almost any situation into something joyous and fun, bringing warmth and laughter to those around her. Her caring nature and ability to find happiness in every situation will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Diann loved her family dearly and never passed up an opportunity to spend time with them. She treasured the moments they shared together and was always grateful for the people she loved. She also had a deep love for her pets and took great joy in caring for them.

She loved to travel and never turned down an opportunity to see new places and experience new things. Diann also enjoyed music and was especially proud of her extensive cactus collection, which she lovingly cared for and took great pride in.

Diann is survived by her husband, John Young; her two sons, Joshua (Korey Smith) Young and Daniel Young; her brothers, Doug Yockey (Nancy) and Rick Yockey (Paige); her sister, Linda Ong (Aaron); as well as her beloved dog, JoJo. She treasured her family deeply and was grateful for the love and memories they shared throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will follow visitation on Thursday at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Rob Mifflin officiating.
