Dudley H. Dunn Obituary

Fishers, Indiana - Dudley H. Dunn-Son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather/great-grandfather and friend.

Born Aug. 21, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was married for 55 years to his lovely bride, Phyllis. They were blessed with three children. Glenda, husband, Reick Crabtree, Collette "Coco" husband, Steve Bill, and son Robert, wife, Elizabeth Cahoon. His five grandchildren learned many valuable "life lessons" from him, and his nine great-grandchildren were constantly entertained by his amusing antics.

Dudley's many friends would tell you that he was their "best friend" and there was "always a party going on" when he was there.

He was a 1948 Washington High School Graduate and a past president of the Washington High School Alumni Association. Dudley served his country in the U.S. Navy, during the Korean Conflict as a Second-Class Petty Officer/Electrician on board the USS Onslow, Norton, and Loyalty ships. In 2016, he was part of Honor Flight #20 to Washington D.C.

His professional career started as a car salesman for Palmer Dodge in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1969, he pursued his dream as a professional golfer. As a PGA Golf Professional, he managed: Boca Re Al in Anderson, Yule Golf Club in Alexandria, Raber Golf Club in Elkhart, Thatcher Golf Course in Speedway. He finalized his career as the PGA pro at Marion Oaks and Top of the World in Ocala, Florida.

Upon his retirement he played in the Senior PGA Tour in Australia with his wife Phyllis, as his caddy. In 2024, Dudley was recognized by the National and State of Indiana Professional Golf Association (PGA) for his 50 years of service.

Dudley Dunn may be "done" living life on this earth however, he will always be remembered for his comeback reply: "No, you're finished, I'm Dunn." His advice, guidance, friendship and infectious positive attitude will be missed. Bless the "angels" of the Independent Living Villages of East Fishers and the Paradigm Hospice Caretakers.
