Anderson, Indiana - Gary Lee Parks of Anderson, passed away on April 28, 2026.

Born on Jan. 1, 1953, in Anderson, to Stephen and Stella Parks.

A proud graduate of Madison Heights High School in 1972, Gary's talents knew no bounds. He was an electrician, pipefitter, and boiler maker. He could fix anything that a hammer doesn't. His dedication extended beyond work; he was a steadfast protector and the foundation of his family.

Gary shared 55 loving years with his wife, Janet, residing primarily in Anderson with a brief five-year stay in California. He found joy in yard work, fishing, visiting family and friends, and playing 13s with his friends at The Hideaway. Brave, strong, caring, and ever-helpful, Gary's presence was a source of stability, love, and laughter for all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Denise (Buntin) Parks; sons, Stephen Douglas (Marla) Parks and John Aaron Parks; brothers, Woodford Coleman (Jeanette) Parks, Raymond Earl (Sarah) Parks, Carl Henry (Kelly) Parks, and John Dean (Brenda) Parks; grandchildren Bryan Douglas (Itzel) Parks, Cheyenne Lee Griffet, Brianne Elaine Griffet, Kristine Kaye Griffet, Bryan Elijah Griffet, Stella Frances Parks; inlaws Brenda Kay (Buntin) Baker, Judith Renee (Truax) (Sam) Young, Jason Todd Truax, and Andrew Joseph Truax; dear family friend, Corey Pryor; niece, Kayla Jane Chew; nephew, Sean Parks; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, close friends, and friends from the neighborhood (Chase Street gang).

Gary was preceded in death by father, Stephen Coleman Parks; mother, Stella Mae (Holland) Parks; brothers, Thomas Wayne (Debby) Parks, Larry Douglas (Ruth) Parks, Jerry Dale (Jane) Parks; in-laws, Martin Royer Buntin, Ruth Irene (Camp) Truax, Martin Eugene Buntin, and Trent Allen Truax.

Gary's legacy of devotion, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of his family and community.
