McCordsville, IN - Jack Temple Gayle, 91, of McCordsville, passed away on June 6, 2026, following a full life surrounded by family.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1934, in Stamping Ground, Kentucky, to Lance and Iva Gayle.

Jack resided most of his life in Anderson, lettering in tennis and wrestling at Anderson High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1956. Jack attended Indiana Business College, where he met the love of his life, Faye. The two were happily married on Oct. 26, 1958. Following several jobs in sales, he worked for Roby's Plumbing and Appliances for 34 years before his retirement in 1998.

Jack was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge #681, F.A.& M. and the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.

Jack is survived by Faye Livingston Gayle, his wife of 67 years; and three children, Kelly (Tripp) Babbitt, Jeff (Sue) Gayle, and Angela (Jeff) Somers.

Additionally, he leaves five grandchildren, Blake and Bridget Babbitt, Emma Somers, and Jackson and Cooper Gayle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, Jeanne Dunn, Pat Miles, and Robert Gayle; and grandson, Bryce Babbitt.

Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, Anderson. Masonic service will be held at 2 p.m. with the funeral to immediately follow with Pastor Scott Dean officiating. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
