Janet Marie Huser Wilson Obituary

Montgomery, Michigan - Janet Marie (Huser) Wilson, 80, of Montgomery, Michigan, formerly of Muncie, Indiana, passed away at her home, surrounded by the love and support of her family and close friend. She was able to spend her final days at her cherished lake cottage on Little Long Lake, a place that brought her great peace and joy.

Jan was born on July 5, 1945, to Robert Lloyd and Hazel I. (Conger) Lovett. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1963 and later attended Ball State University.

A woman of remarkable determination and strength, Jan built an impressive career that meant a great deal to her. She began working in 1964 at Mid-West Towel & Linen Services in Muncie, Indiana, as a summer employee, and through dedication and perseverance rose to become vice president of the company 16 years later. After several transitions, the business was eventually absorbed into Cintas Corporation, where Jan continued her career and retired in 2007 as an international computer trainer. In the later years of her career, she traveled extensively for work, embracing every opportunity to learn, teach, and connect with people around the world. She took great pride in everything she accomplished and proved time and again that she could achieve anything she set her mind to.

In retirement, Jan's love of travel continued—this time shared with dear friends. Whether near or far, she cherished every journey, valuing the memories made and the friendships strengthened along the way.

Jan's heart, however, was always at home—especially at the place she lovingly called the "Wilson Hilton." Her home was never just a house; it was a gathering place where friends, neighbors, and family were always welcomed with open arms. She delighted in entertaining, preparing elaborate meals, and feeding not only her loved ones but often the entire neighborhood — a quiet but constant act of generosity that defined who she was.

She especially looked forward to hosting guests at the Wilson Hilton and sharing her many passions. An avid quilter, Jan loved creating beautiful pieces and proudly showing off her latest projects. Her garden was her sanctuary, a space she tended with great care—particularly when it came to keeping her beloved flowers free of weeds. She could often be found enjoying a good card game with anyone willing to play and was always ready with a smile and a story.

Jan had a soft spot for life's simple joys, including her favorite treat: Concannon's chocolate yeast donuts, which she savored as something truly special.

Above all, Jan adored children, especially her grandchildren. She lived by the motto "never spoil a child's imagination," and she carried that belief into the loving care she gave to every child who crossed her path. Her warmth, patience, and encouragement left a lasting impression on countless young lives.

Jan is survived by her son, Jay (Jennifer) Huser of Anderson, Indiana; grandson, Josh (Megan) Huser of Fishers, Indiana; granddaughter, Jannaye Huser of Noblesville, Indiana; brother, Max (Jana) Lovett of Fishers, Indiana; and sister, Linda (Tom) Good of Sullivan, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jimmie L. Wilson, who passed away on May 6, 2005.

A time to receive friends will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Thompson Funeral Home, 204 E. Main St., Montpelier, Ohio.

A memorial service will immediately follow at noon at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montgomery Fire Department.
