Janice Carolyn (Skinner) Boxell, age 73, of Nokomis, Florida passed away on June 5, 2017. She was born on Dec. 21, 1943 in Anderson, Indiana and was a former resident of Anderson and Decatur prior to moving to Florida. Janice retired from Heritage Healthcare in Venice, Florida as a LPN. Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Dewayne Boxell of Nokomis, Florida, Ross (Tina) Boxell of Decatur, Indiana, Mark Boxell (Susan Johnson) of Nokomis, Florida; her father, Preston H. Skinner of Nokomis, Florida; her brother, Preston "Bud" Skinner of Venice, Florida; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Because of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, she was loved by many. Her life was as beautiful as the plants and flowers, that she loved so well and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all whom knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Louise Ashby Skinner of Nokomis, Florida; a sister, Patricia (Skinner) Kacel of Nokomis, Florida; sister-in-law, Shirley Doreen Jane Barns Skinner of Venice, Florida and a granddaughter, Leonna Kay Boxell of Decatur, Indiana. A visitation for Janice will be held from 4:00PM-7:00PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice.
