Janice J. Stanley
Janice J. Stanley, 87, of Fortville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, in Indianapolis.
She was born May 4, 1932 in Contra Costa County, California, to David T. and Opal (Kendall) Cash. Janice was a 1950 graduate of the old Fortville High School, a homemaker and had also worked as an assistant to Dr. Mars Ferrell for several years, retiring in 1985. She had also worked at Fisher Guide in Anderson.
Janice was a member of the Fortville Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 149. Janice was the Fortville Centennial Queen contest first runner-up. She was a great cook and seamstress. Janice also loved traveling around the country with her husband Bob when he was an IndyCar official.
Janice is survived by children, Greg (Clala) Stanley of Fortville, Jana (Allen) McIntosh of Paris, Illinois, Roger (Nola) Stanley of Freedom, Wisconsin, and Steve (Deanna) Stanley of Fortville; grandchildren, Heather Stout, Derrick (Monika) Stanley, Stephen (Nicole) Stanley, Jon (Leah) Stanley, Peter Cozzi, Jennifer (Phil) Gouin, Joseph (Terrah) Stanley, Nathan Stanley, Olivia Stanley, Luke (Makayla) Stanley; stepgrandchildren, James McIntosh, KJ Lee, Yu Jin Lee, Ashley (Mark) Heiberger, Michael Wolter; 18 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stanley; sisters, Georgia Cash, Naoma Bolander; and brother, David Cash.
A service to celebrate Janice's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at 12:30 p.m. at Seals Funeral Home, Fortville.
Friends may call on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in Gravel Lawn Cemetery, Fortville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018.
