Jennie McCoy Obituary

Jennie McCoy, passed away March 5, 2025, in Columbus, Indiana.

She is survived by her husband, L.D. whom she married on March 23, 1975; her daughter, Sarah (Brent) Bodem; granddaughters, Lydia and Eliza Bodem; sisters, Carol McQuirk and Patti Baker and sister-in-law, Sally Beard.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bill Beard.

She was a retired teacher at South Elementary School in Pendleton, Indiana. Jennie began her career in the very same classroom where she would retire, 36 years later. She previously attended South Meridian Church of God in Anderson, Indiana, and later the First Christian Church in Columbus.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home 3855 25th St., Columbus, Indiana, with Pastor Dale Landis officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton with graveside services at 1:15 p.m.

Jennie loved flowers; however, she would want memorial contributions to be made to Turning Point, 729 Washington St., Columbus, IN 47201.
