Jerry Harold Goehring
September 23, 1947 - August 27, 2025
Jerry Harold Goehring, 77, of Anderson, passed away Aug. 27, 2025, at Community Hospital Anderson after an extended illness.
Born Sept. 23, 1947, in Anderson, to Dutch and Verda A. (York) Goehring. Jerry graduated from Anderson High School in 1965, Franklin College, and later earned a master's degree from Ball State University.
He married Meredith (Davis) Goehring on Oct. 24, 1969, and she survives.
Jerry retired after 34 years as an elementary school teacher with Anderson Community Schools. He loved working with children, treasured time with family — especially his grandchildren — and had a heart for animals.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Meredith; his children, Jonathan (Jennifer) Goehring and Adriane (Jon) Kabrud; and grandchildren, Jack, Ella, Dutch and Huxley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been chosen, with private family services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League, Anderson.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
