Lapel, Indiana - John "Jack" C. Ackerman, 91, Lapel, passed away, Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020, at Residence in Lapel following an extended illness

He was born Nov. 1, 1928, in Anderson to John Ackerman and Jeanette (Little) Ackerman .

Jack was graduated from Frankton High School in 1946.

He retired from Delco Remy in 1979 after 30 years of service.

Jack was a member of the Lapel Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Betty (Troutman) Ackerman, of Lapel; children, Amelia (John) Milner, of Pendleton, and Carolyn (Phillip) Sisson, of Cape Coral, Florida; grandchildren, Chris (Rachel) Milner, of Lapel, and Amanda (Josh) Wheeler, of Lapel; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Liam Milner and Cicely Wheeler.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

A Graveside Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, 2020, at Prairie Memorial Cemetery, 14790 East 206th Street, Noblesville, Indiana, with Pastor Alan Muxlow officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051.
