John Thomas Guion, 66, went home to the Lord peacefully surrounded by his wife and children Tuesday, Aug. 27, at his home in Pendleton.
A wonderful life well lived as a husband, father, brother, uncle, and papaw. John had a gift of making people laugh, feeling loved, and accepted. His optimistic attitude was contagious. He was loved by all. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He had a love for music, movies, golf, and great food. "And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts, and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
John was born on Aug. 14, 1953, in Speedway, to John H. Guion and Suzanne (Johnson) Rutter. He graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1971. John was a successful general manager of two different Outdoor Advertising companies, and owner of two Mancino's Pizza and Grinder restaurants. His deep love and passion for music led him toward many entrepreneurial ventures, including owner of Bleecker Street Eatery in Cicero, part owner of the Anderson State Theatre, and owner of Pearl's Records in Noblesville. He was founder of Anderson Myeloma Golf Outing which has raised more than $125,000 in donations for finding a cure for Multiple Myeloma.
John is survived by his wife, Danielle (Willmann) Guion; daughter, Courtney (Coppock) Guion (Daniel); sons, Matthew Guion and Gregory Guion (Crystal); his sister, Michelle (Guion) McDaniel (Donnie); and brother, Kevin Guion (Jill); and the proud grandfather to Ella and Audrey Coppock and Dylan Guion; and host of several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gregory.
A Celebration of Life will be held this Sunday, Sept. 1, from 2:30 to 4 p.m., followed by a service from 4 to 5 p.m. at Catalyst Church, 8820 Ind. 9, Pendleton.
