John Isom Obituary

Anderson, IN - John Isom, 82, of Anderson, passed away on Dec. 1, 2025, leaving this world to be with his wife on her birthday — reunited with her in love and peace.

He was born May 14, 1943, in Anderson, Indiana, to Cecil and Mary Ann (Webster) Isom. A graduate of Anderson High School, John excelled in track, football, and wrestling.

John proudly served in the United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting, and was an active member of the Jeep Club "4-High of Anderson." He also played softball at the UAW, enjoying the camaraderie and competition. Above all, John loved his family more than anything and cherished every moment spent with them.

John is survived by daughters, Tamara (Eric) Demalon and Heather Tucker; son, John (Shelly) Geisinger, grandchildren, Mitch Geisinger, Kole (Hannah) Demalon, Tyler Geisinger, Grant Geisinger, Ashton Tucker, Noah Tucker, and Maxwell Demalon; great-grandchildren, Emerson Demalon, Isabella Tucker, and Beckett Demalon; numerous nieces and nephews; brother, Richard (Karen) Isom; sister, Saundra Schultz; he is also survived by his sister-in-law, Donna Isom, who held a special place in both John and Pam's hearts. Donna was far more than a sister-in-law-she was family in every sense of the word.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Phillip Isom; and son-in-law, Joseph Tucker.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2025, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. with his nephew, Chris Isom, officiating at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory.
