Joyce Ann (Hise) Brundage, 90, of Anderson, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Jan. 1, 2024, after an extended illness.

Joyce was born on Nov. 17, 1933, to Gladys (Anderson) and Arthur Hise in Decatur, Illinois. She was a proud graduate of Anderson High School (1953). In September 1955, she married Gerald "Gene" Brundage to whom she was married 60 years.

Joyce previously worked at Montgomery Ward and retired from K-Mark after 20 years.

Lovingly referred to as Mom, Mamaw, and Great Ma, Joyce was an active mother and grandmother. She was a member of the PTA, the president of the Mother's Club, and Brownie (Girl Scouts) Leader. She traveled with her husband to all 50 states, many times taking their grandchildren with them.

Joyce was an active member of The First Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She frequently got together with close friends from high school throughout the years. She was also an active Democrat and never missed an opportunity to volunteer at her election poll site. She enjoyed watching cardinals and had many pets, including a pet duck.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents, her husband, G. Gene Brundage; and her siblings, Herald and Gerald (Peanut) Hise and Patsy Boyer.

She is survived by her children, Gina Lynn (Dale) Dreger, Brenda Gaye (Garry) Hill, Tamara Lou Brundage-Day (Shane Meyer), and Eric Fitzgerald (Susan) Brundage; her grandchildren, Aaron Dreger, Alycia Dreger, Sarah Jarvis, Maggie Downham, Joshua Golden, Cory Day II, and Paige Morgan; her great-grandchildren, Alexis Nares, Cheyanne Golden, Ethan and Ella Jarvis, Elliot Morgan, and Ryit Golden; and great-great-grandchildren, Esther, Daniel, and Mateo; beloved cousin, Eulah May Gahwiler; and special loved ones, David Michael York and Carl (Butch) Shipley.

Services will be held at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, at noon.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Dennis Roberts will be officiating.
