Kenneth Kethron Blalock
SUMMITVILLE [mdash] Kenneth Kethron Blalock, 72, passed away at his home in Summitville on Monday, Nov. 25, 2019, following an extended illness.
Kenny was born in Summerville, Georgia, on March 14, 1947, to Curtis Ray and Mary Lou (Humphrey) Blalock. Kenny was raised in Summitville and graduated from Summitville High School in 1966.
He then went on to serve in the United States Army 1st Infantry Division from 1966 to 1968, serving one year in Vietnam. On June 8, 1969, Kenny married Cathy Jane Hobbs. To their union, they had three children, David Ray, Andrea Lynn, and Amy Marie. Kenny worked at the Chrysler Casting Plant in Kokomo for 34 years, from 1968 to 2002. He was an active member of the Summitville First Baptist Church and loved his church family dearly.
Kenny loved nothing more than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and his cat. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and fellow veterans. Kenny enjoyed fishing, gardening, working on cars, and learning about history, and was always sharing his knowledge about old cars, coins, and other antique finds. He was often cracking jokes, and would sometimes break out his dance moves that always made his family laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy; his son, David Blalock, and daughter-in-law, Tamara (Biehl) Blalock of Summitville; daughter, Amy (Blalock) Moore, and son-in-law, Jeff Moore of Summitville; six grandchildren, Seth, Hannah, Jalyn, Ashlyn, Madelyn, and Jebediah; brother, Curtis Jr., of Summitville; aunt, Hazel Crull of Kokomo; uncle and aunt, Henley and Florence Humphrey of Alexandria; uncle and aunt, Charles and Bernice Hobbs of Connersville; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Ray; mother, Mary Lou; sisters, Deborah and Joyce; and daughter, Andrea Lynn.
Services honoring Kenny's life, legacy and faith will take place at 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29, 2019, at the Summitville First Baptist Church, 700 E. Mill St., Summitville, with Rev. Don Miller officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Vinson Memorial Cemetery in Summitville.
Friends may call at the church after 1 p.m. on Friday prior to the services.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Summitville First Baptist Church or the Wounded Warrior Project with envelopes available at the church during the visitation and services.
Owens-Noffze Funeral Home of Summitville is honored to care for Kenny and serve the Blalock family.

Known you a lifetime, family vacations at the lakes, who could jump into the hay from the barn window, so many memories. You will be missed. May peace and love go with you. Cathy and the kids will be ok. She's a strong person!
