Kenneth G. Qualls


Kenneth G. Qualls, 89, of Anderson, passed away on Sept. 9, 2019.
He was born on Aug. 25, 1930, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Kenny attended Anderson High School. He served his country in U.S. Army National Guard from 1950-1953.
He worked for Delco Remy and retired in 1987 after 36 years of service.
Kenny was a member of East Side Church of God, served as a Red Coat at Community Hospital in Anderson after retirement, was a Master Mason at Mount Moriah No. 77, F. & A. M., and was very involved in the Boy Scouts where he served as a Scout Master and Commissioner for more than 20 years.
Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Joyce (Richardson) Qualls; children, Steven (Jacque) Qualls, Brenda Qualls, Sandra Olvey, and Doris Qualls; 12 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Verleen Rich and Ruth Brown; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude and James Qualls; son, Kenneth R. Qualls; and sisters, Maralee Hodson and Evlyn Phol.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.
Services will follow visitation at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Kerry Robinson officiating. Burial of remains will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local council of the Boy Scouts of America.
