Kylie Joy (Hosier) Hendress, 32, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital, Lafayette, due to complications during childbirth.
Born in March 5, 1984, in Alexandria, she is the daughter of Mark and Dena Hosier of Alexandria and sister of Whitney (Hosier) Webb, of Pine Village.
She was the wife of Nicholas P. " Nick" Hendress, of Brookston, for almost six years and loving mother of daughters, Kenzie R. Hendress and Josslyn G. Hendress, of Brookston.
Growing up, she competed on academic teams, enjoyed learning in school, and was very active in 4-H while showing livestock competitively all over Indiana with her family. She was a 10-year 4-H member. After being the Valedictorian of the Alexandria-Monroe High School Class of 2002, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Butler University in Business.
Kylie used her take charge leadership skills and outgoing personality to run several national conferences for Agrability, where she helped farmers who had been disabled due to medical conditions or injuries get back to farming. Additionally, Kylie used her passion and business skills to initiate the Indiana Landrace Association, to help young 4-H members show Landrace swine.
In addition to her parents, husband, daughters and sister, Kylie is survived by grandparents, Jack and Marlene Street of Alexandria, Howard (Elaine) Hosier, of Anderson, Pat and Dave Fisher Surber of Reynolds; aunt, Pam (Greg) Bohlander, of Elwood; and other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Joyzella Hosier, and uncles, Kevin Hosier and Terry Street.
A Celebration of Life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, at Old Reynolds Elementary, 401 W. Second St., Reynolds.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. to service Tuesday at the school.
Memorial donations may be made through Lafayette Bank and Trust in Reynolds.
