MARKLEVILLE - Linda Jane Abbott, 71, Markleville, passed away on July 1, 2014, at her residence. She was born on Nov. 21, 1942, in Anderson, and resided most of her life in Markleville. Linda graduated from Anderson High School in 1960, and from Ball State University in 1964. She retired from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, and was also a school teacher before being employed at Guide Lamp. She loved to do craftwork, paint, and make jewelry. She also enjoyed golfingand spending time in Florida during the winter months. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Earnest Abbott; sons, Bill P. (Dorie) McCallister and Bob (Eileen) McCallister; daughter, Dawn (Matt Smith) McCallister-Riddle; stepson, Ernest A. Abbott; sister, Mary (David) Huddleston; brother, Paul A. (Roberta) Welker; grandchildren, Alisha McCallister, Dalton Riddle, Megan Garmon, Laini (Trace) Toten, Pierce Abbott, Matthew (Anna) Abbott, Jason (India) Abbott and Eric Abbott; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Welker; father, Paul H. Welker; and her stepson, Eddie R. Abbott. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating.
