Anderson, Indiana - Louise Walker, 92, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at Community Hospital Anderson.

She was born on April 8, 1931, in Evensville, Rhea County, Tennessee, to Fred E. Price and Ruth P. Price (nee', Harrison). She lived in Anderson the past 61 years. She was married to her husband, Chris Peyton Walker Sr., on April 24, 1950, in Anderson, for 45 years.

She was an awesome waitress at the Edginn Restaurant, Anderson, until it closed in 1996. She took pride in her home and children. She was a "spitfire" of a mom and didn't hesitate to say what was on her mind. She made sure her family wore clothes that were just like new and ironed to perfection. Louise was an excellent cook as attested to by the neighborhood children. When she was cooking they always found some reason to be there when dinner was being served. She didn't turn anyone away when they were hungry or needed help. She would not hesitate to make sure someone in need had clothes or shoes to wear. She loved to play Euchre with family and friends and her parties were always a hit.

Louise is survived by her children and their spouses, Donna and Lee Davis of Mahomet, Illinois, Chris "Smokey" Walker Jr., Cheryl and Greg Young of Phoenix, Arizona, and David Walker of Anderson; several grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins; and the many friendships she developed over the years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Chris Peyton Walker Sr.; son, Fredie "Corkey" Walker; stepdaughter, Vicki Jo Moore; grandson, Jason Walker; and sisters, Arietta Barker and Virginia Maiden.

The visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Richland Township Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
