Margaret (Fredericks) Abel, died in Portland, Ore., at age 102 years, on July 15, 2011. She was born to Edward and Margaret Fredericks on March 20, 1909, in Anderson, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Red Abel, whom she married in November 1931 at St. Mary's Church in Anderson; her daughter, Maryanne Wright; a grandson, Michael Abel; her parents; sisters, Alice Fredericks and Mary Helen Hoffner; and brothers, Edward, Frances, James, Joseph, John and Wilbert. Survivors include sons, Larry Joe, Ed and Mike Abel; a sister, Kathryn King; and grandchildren, Tammy, Robert, Pamela, Laura, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Michelle, Christopher, Kathleen, Sandra and Brad; and numerous great-grandchildren. Cremation will take place in Portland, Ore. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ambrose Church in Anderson, Ind. A special thanks goes to granddaughters, Kathleen West and Sandra Wright Ng for being great caregivers to their grandmother who loved them very much.
