Anderson, IN - Mary Emma Huser Hanna, 101, of Anderson, passed away on Dec. 4, 2025.

She was born on Nov. 15, 1924, in Bloomington, Indiana, to her parents Pearl and William Huser.

Mary graduated from Anderson High School in 1943.

She owned and operated Mrs. Hanna's Nursery School for 20 years until she retired in 1985. Mary also worked credit and layaway for J.C. Penney in Anderson for several years.

Mary was a member of the Eta Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha for more than 75 years. She led Tuesday-morning Bible Study for over 30 years and enjoyed to read and travel.

Mary is survived by her two daughters, Cindi McCarroll and Jan McMichael; four grandsons, Thad McCarroll, Brade McCarroll, Kacy McCarroll and Derek (Kim) Glaze; three great-grandchildren, Keely Myres, Cash McCarroll and Keandra Glaze; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married on March 17, 1946, Norman E. Hanna; parents; brother, George Huser; and son-in-law, Dwain McCarroll.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, in Anderson.

Services follow visitation at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Andy Watkins officiating. Burial will take place in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Middletown EMS and/or the Middletown Food Pantry.
