Melanie (Wood) Gibson
ALEXANDRIA - Melanie Ann (Wood) Gibson, age 65, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020, due to an extended illness.
She was born on Jan. 30, 1955, at Naval Station Navy Base, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Roy and Carolyn (Dolenski) Wood. She found her only true love and soulmate, Duane, at age of 20, in August of 1975. They married on Oct. 17, 1975. She loved him and he loved her for a wonderful 44 years.
Melanie lived her earlier years in Lafayette, Indiana, then moved to Alexandria, Indiana. Melanie loved to love people. She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother. She never missed a game or event to support her children, and maintained that level of support throughout their adulthood. Melanie and her mother Carolyn together avidly collected Elvis Presley memorabilia and loved going to Memphis, Tennessee, to Graceland. They became friends with many in that Graceland circle. She was a true animal lover and cared particularly for dogs and cats.

All of these she loved and touched deeply.
