Melody was born Aug. 7, 1961, in Madison County, where she resided until comfortably passing in her home on Sept. 20, 2019.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara (Aden Willis) Koopman; siblings, Robin (Mark) Ludek and Randy (Patty) Koopman; daughters, Kandice (Jerry) Picco and Karrie ((Josh) Rhodifer; niece, Amber (Phillip Hunter) Koopman; nephews, Jerry (Breonna) McGhee, Joseph (Ashley Lawson) Koopman and Daniel Ludek; and her great-nephews.
There will be a celebration of Mel's life from 1 to 3 p.m Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, at Shadyside Park in Anderson. There will be a balloon release ceremony at 2:30 p.m.
