Morris W. Mottweiler
ALEXANDRIA - Morris W. Mottweiler, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Anderson on April 12, 1937, the son of Victor and Roberta (Stahl) Mottweiler. He has lived in Alexandria all of his lifetime. He graduated from Alexandria High School. He served with the United States Marines from 1954 - 1956. For several years, Morris worked as a mechanic at the former Heckaman Buick and Bob Myers Buick in Anderson. He was a member of the former Alexandria Church of God and more recently attended the Community Church of Alexandria. Morris was also a former member of the Alexandria Eagles-#1771. He enjoyed camping, water skiing and riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed tinkering and puttering in his garage to the point that a grandson named him "Mr. Garage." Morris was a fan of the donut and he was a common fixture at the former Alexandria Bakery. Morris will probably be most known for his love of walking and could be seen anywhere at any time with his faithful companion "Woofie" and his walking stick.
At Morris's request, cremation will take place. A Celebration of his life will be announced at a future date at the convenience of the family.
Owens Funeral Home is honored to care for Morris and serve the Mottweiler family.
