Alexandria, Indiana - Nancy Lee (Achterman) Speeg, 86, entered peace and rest from Alexandria Health and Rehabilitation on Thursday, April 2, 2026, following an extended illness.

She was born on Aug. 8, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Hubert and Alberta (Moore) Achterman. She was a graduate of Norwood High School-Class of 1957. She retired as a legal secretary from a private law practice.

Nancy was a member of Bethany Christian Church in Anderson and the Lydia Circle of the church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and was a skilled seamstress, sewing many quilts and clothing items, including her daughter's wedding dress. Nancy was a very generous and supportive woman.

Survivors include son, Roy James Speeg Jr. of Helena, Montana; daughter, Wendy (Larry) Lipps of Alexandria; grandchildren, Ana Rodriguez (Gio), Micah Lipps (Haley Hardebeck), Caleb (Haley) Lipps, Jesse Lipps, Tristan Speeg, Tana Speeg, and Jackson Speeg; great-grandchildren, Boston Lipps, Brennan Beeman, and Bracyn Beeman;

sister-in-law, Marie Funke of Xenia, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy J. Speeg in 1995; and her brother, James Achterman.

The Speeg family will receive family and friends on Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Arlington Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati. Interment will immediately follow in Arlington Memorial Gardens at Cincinnati.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in Nancy's memory.

Nancy's care and service arrangements have been entrusted to Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria.
