Middletown, Indiana - Nicholas Dean Waymire, 79, of Middletown, passed away on May 9, 2026, at the Middletown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1947, in Elwood, to his parents Iris Peterson and Forest Dean Waymire.
Nicholas graduated from Frankton High School in 1965. After graduation, he earned his bachelor's degree in business from Ball State University while proudly working for General Motors at the same time, reflecting the strong work ethic and determination that would define his life.
He later began a long and successful career with Canteen, where his dedication, leadership, and personable nature helped him rise through the ranks in various sales positions. After 25 years of faithful service, he retired as District Sales Manager, leaving behind many lasting friendships and respected accomplishments.
Nicholas was a gifted athlete who excelled on the basketball court and had a true passion for golf. His talent in basketball even earned him a workout with the Indiana Pacers, a moment he was incredibly proud of.
Nicholas is survived by his loving spouse of 49 years, Beth (Eldridge) Waymire; three sons, Ryan (Connie) Waymire, Adam Waymire (Holly Shaw) and Mark Waymire; grandson, Nate Waymire; sister, Vicki (Gary) Martini; and his nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and mother and father-in-law, Phyllis and Gilbert Eldridge.
Cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Life Church Pendleton Campus, 6501 S. Ind. 67, Pendleton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Waymire family through Loose Funeral Homes.
