Anderson, IN - Nitra Shell, 48, passed away March 25, 2026.
Nitra was born July 10, 1977, to Lyle Steele and Marilyn Jones. She was a 1995 Madison Heights High School graduate and employed at Allison Transmission and a cosmetologist. Nitra enjoyed reading, baking, swimming and spending time with family and friends.
Nitra is survived by her beloved father, Joe Rayford; husband, Lewis Shell Sr.; sons, Lewis Shell Jr.( Deborah), Markell Shell; daughter, Germariah Allen; sisters, Lyla Steele, Leire Jones, Breonna McGhee (Jerry), Alexia Yancy (Ronald), Starla Nixon (Reggie); brothers, Landon Hill, Brennen Steele (Rachel), Keayon Scott, Remington Steele; grandchild, Aurora Shell; and a host of family and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at UAW, 2840 Madison Ave.
