ANDERSON [mdash] Patricia Ann Tompkins, 92, of Anderson, passed away on March 25, 2025, at Sugar Fork Crossing.

Patricia was born on March 27, 1932, in Sullivan, Indiana, to William and Mary (Vester) Fry. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1950, was a member of the band, and after graduation went on to work for The Herald Bulletin newspaper, Anderson. She started in advertising and was able to retire as the executive secretary to the publisher. While working for the newspaper, she met her late husband, Donald Tompkins, and the two were married on May 11, 1957.

Patricia and Don spent 39 years together before his passing. She found her spiritual home at East Side Church of God and was a faithful member for many years. Patricia loved to volunteer at the church and the Paramount Theatre, and her hobby was collecting bells. Most importantly, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Patricia will be dearly missed by her son, Mark (Robin) Tompkins; stepdaughter, Sharon (Rick Hartnett) Shreffler; special niece, Penny (Larry) Willhoite; grandchildren, Mark (Lauren) Tompkins, Michael (Kelly) Tompkins, Matthew Tompkins, Joshua Utley, Jason Utley, Terri Wells, Gary Wells, Brian (Tina) Wells, and Kathleen "Kat" (Keenan) Temple; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; son, Gregory Tompkins; stepson, Richard Tompkins; and brother, Marion "Bud" Fry.

Her visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Bozell Funeral Homes-Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson. The funeral ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Kerry Robinson will be officiating. Burial will take place in East Maplewood Cemetery. Patricia's services have been entrusted to Bozell Funeral Homes.
