Anderson, IN - ANDERSON - Robert "Sloopy" Taylor, 75, passed away July 26, 2026.

Sloopy was born Aug. 29, 1950, to Walter Reed and Ada Houchins. He was an Anderson high school graduate and a U.S. Navy veteran. Sloopy enjoyed basketball and spending time with family and friends.

Sloopy is survived by his significant other, Johnnie Miles; sisters, Beverly Wright, Terrie Nunn, Kimberly Reed; brothers, Michael (Jackie) Houchins, Quan Reed; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1st 2026 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1540 W. 16th St., with visitation two hours prior to service.
