Ingalls, Indiana - Roma Lee Hennis, 83, of Ingalls, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025, at Community Hospital Anderson.
He was born Nov. 1, 1941, in Anderson, to Cecil and Louise (Barnard) Hennis.
Roma graduated from the last class of the old Fortville High School in 1959. He was a U.S. Army veteran, former member and assistant chief of the Ingalls Volunteer Fire Department, an over 50-year and life member of the Fortville American Legion Post #391, former Democratic Precinct Committee Chairman for Green Township in Madison County and a life member of the North American Fishing Club.
Roma retired from Delco Remy in Anderson where he was a machine operator and member of UAW Local 662.
Roma was a fan of the Chicago Bears, Boston Red Sox and Joey Logano. He was also an avid IU Basketball fan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Roma is survived by his brother, Robert Hennis of Pendleton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Vennone) Hennis in 2009; and his parents, listed above.
A funeral to celebrate Roma's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 9088 W. 1025S, Fortville.
Friends may call at the chapel on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service. Online condolences may be shared at www.sealsfuneralhome.com.
