Ruth Esther (Crossman) Holbrook, 96, of Anderson, died at her daughter's residence on June 14, 2016, after a brief illness.

Ruth was born Sept. 26, 1919, in Deer Creek, Ill., to the late Harry and Nellie (Blaine) Crossman. She was a homemaker and pastor's wife. Following her husband's retirement, she attended South Meridian Church of God.

Survivors include her five children, Janis (Tom) Tilley of Albany, Ga., James (Debbie) Holbrook of Farnham, Va., Jayne (Charlie) Gannon of Anderson, Jeffry (Tammy) Holbrook of Beaumont, Alberta, Canada, and Jeana (Robert) Davies of Abbottsford, British Columbia, Canada; brother, Bob Crossman of Gibson City, Ill.; sister, Joan (Wayne) Fritch of Antioch, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Shannon Jones, Gabe Tilley, Jamie Parker, Amanda Wyer, Luke Holbrook, Jason and Brian Gannon, Brock, Braden and Paige Adams; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kara, Cooper, Claire, Porter, Parker and Rhett; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Pete and Cinda Burgert.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Delmar Holbrook; two brothers, Claude and Dale Crossman; and sister, Helen Schertz.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Ed Hiatt of South Meridian Church of God and Tom Malbone officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Anderson University or South Meridian Church of God.
