Anderson, IN - Ruth Alice Norris, 67, of Anderson, passed away on May 1, 2026, at Beaumont Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on April 24, 1959, in New Castle.

Ruth graduated with honors from Shenandoah High School in 1977. She was a member of The National Honor Society, and studied to be a medical assistant at Ivy Tech. She worked for decades as a seamstress for Leibhardt Mills in Middletown.

Ruth loved her son, Joshua and her dogs, Snowy, Speckles and Moe. She also enjoyed Bingo, crocheting, and the TV show, "I Love Lucy". She was a fan of Carole King, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Pan Flute music, and Chonda Pierce.

Ruth is survived by her son, Joshua Zachary Norris of Anderson; siblings, Ramona Zachary, Phillip (Donna) Zachary, and Melvin Zachary, all of Middletown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she married in California on Sept. 6, 1996, David P. Norris, and then cruised to Ensenada, Mexico; her parents, Raymond and Bernita Zachary; and siblings, Davis and Anita.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson.

Services will be Friday, May 8, 2026, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in the Bronnenberg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joshua Zachary Norris Irrevocable Trust, 4644 S. Scatterfield Road, Suite J, Anderson, IN 46013.
