Ruth A. Stinnett, 86, of Anderson, passed away on Jan. 9, 2024.

She was born on May 11, 1937, in Byrdstown, Tennessee, to Cordell and Ora (Cross) Neal.

Ruth was a member of the First Pentecostal Church. She was also very fascinated with nature, especially when it came to bird watching. Ruth also loved gardening, and planting her flowers. Ruth also took great pride in her yard, nothing would stop her from keeping her yard from looking wonderful. She also enjoyed baking and working alongside her late husband William Paul with painting. But, Ruth loved nothing more than her grandchildren and spending as much time with them.

Ruth is survived by her son, William Brian Stinnett; daughters, Patty (Greg) Benefiel, Mary (Chris) Stinnett-Reeder; stepson, Tommy Stinnett; grandchildren, Miranda (Mike) Chamberlain, Ryan Benefiel, Hunter Stinnett, Bryce Reeder, and Shirley Shriner; great-grandchildren, Liam and Libby Chamberlain; brothers, David Neal, and Frankie Neal; sister, Dewilla Neal; sister-in-law, Lyda Neal; fur baby, Miss Kitty.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Paul; her parents, Cordell and Ora Neal; stepsons, William Billy Stinnett and Dean Stinnett; stepdaughter, Phyllis Stinnett; grandson, Billy Stinnett; brother, Tommy Neal; sisters, Nell and Helen Neal.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson. The funeral service will at noon Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Madison County Humane Society.
