Sandra Clayton

Events

Sandra S. Clayton, 78, went home to her heavenly home on Aug. 15, 2019, after a long battle of dementia.
Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through the struggles and ultimately gave her peace in the end.
Sandra was born to the late Othal and Hazel Beasley in Dugger, Indiana, on Feb. 4, 1941. She was raised on the family farm where she discovered her love for animals. Sandra had a horse and always said that her best friends were her pigs. Sandra attended Anderson College where she graduated with a 4.0 nursing degree. Not only did she want to save lives through nursing, she also wanted to share the love of Christ. Sandra's God given passion was planting flowers. When the flowers were in bloom, she would arrange them into beautiful bouquets. Sandra loved to deliver these bouquets to hospitals and nursing homes. She believed that by passing out the flowers, they would cause joy to the person and help with any illness that they were fighting.
Sandra was blessed with a large and loving family. She married the love of her life, Kenneth E. Clayton on Feb. 25, 1963, who sadly passed away in 2008. They raised their three children in which they encouraged the love of God.
Sandra is survived by her three children; son, Jeffery (Teresa) Clayton, daughter, Cara (Todd) Brobst, and son, Daniel (Theresa) Clayton; eight grandchildren, Sandra Clayton, Stephanie Hopkins, Ashley (Rich) Tasker, Katie Clayton, Christina (Tim) Irvin, Tim Doerner, Mary Costakis, and Nathaniel Costakis; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family is having a private ceremony to celebrate Sandra's life.
Sandra always said God is good all the time!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I went to nursing school with Sandy and enjoyed many laughs throughout our schooling. I hate that she suffered with dementia. I will pray faithfully for all.

I remember Sandra well from our time together at Parkview Nazarene. I was blessed to have been the recipient of one of her hand-picked and delivered beautiful bouquets. She was a dear sister in Christ. Blessings of comfort to her family.
