Shirley (Story) Reel Obituary

Shirley (Story) Reel, 82, began her journey home to be united with God and family on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016, at Waterford Place. Shirley was born on Sept. 11, 1933, to Melvin R. and Ethel K. Story in Terre Haute.

Shirley graduated from Gerstmeyer Tech. High School in 1951 and married her late husband, Stanley V. Reel, on Dec. 26, 1951.

Shirley spent her adult life in Anderson, where she worked at Delco Remy for 39 years. She was the president of the Women's Elks Club and a president of the Women's Shrine. Shirley was an avid card player and fashion shopper. She also enjoyed being at Tippecanoe Lake.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Bahler and Scott (Brenda) Reel; grandchildren, Bryan Bahler, Christan Bahler (Adrian Eggenberger), Adam Bahler (Valentina Isaza), Daniel (Destynne) Reel and Erica Reel (Steven Frye); great-grandchildren, Rayden Frye and Justice, Elyjah and Brinnley Reel.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Ethel Story, and her husband, Stanley V. Reel.

Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday Aug. 17, 2016, at Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana. Funeral service will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made and mailed to Guardian Angel Hospice Care, 513 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902.
