MIDDLETOWN - Stephen Charles Abshire, 61, resident of Middletown, went to be with Jesus Sunday morning at his home. He was born in New Castle, Ind., Nov.19, 1951, the son of Fredrick and Audrey Godsell Abshire. He had worked for many years at Harvestland in Oakville. He was a member of the Eagles of Alexandria. Survivors are his wife, Stephenie (Jaqua) of Middletown; five children, Michael Abshire of Middletown, Jennifer Abshire of Indianapolis, Char Tinch (Ronald) of Middletown, Daniel Abshire of Ingalls, and Eric Guilkey (Heidi) of Manito, Ill., sister: Elizabeth Kern of New Castle; and several grandchildren. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Miller Cemetery with Marty Ballard officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society/Colon-Rectal Research.
