Anderson, IN - The world lost a beautiful soul on Jan. 30, 2026. Theresa Gayle Higgins died after a brief illness.

Theresa was born in Galveston, Texas, and spent her childhood in Texas, Indiana, Mississippi, and back to Texas. She returned to Indiana for good in 2002.

Theresa had a varied work history, but her favorite was in child care. She loved all kids, but her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was the Best Grammy and Yaya a child could have. Theresa did love cats almost as much as her kids and grandkids!

Theresa leaves behind her husband, Andrew Higgins; children, Samantha (Jacob) Rhoades, Julie (Tyler Lanfair) Guerra, and Jonathan Perez; stepdaughters, Allison (Corey) Wells and Chaneen Higgins; and grandchildren, Braxton Owens, Bailey Cramer, and Ian Stewart.

Also surviving are her mother, Rose Evans; brother, Brad Evans; two nieces; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding Theresa in death were her sister, Virginia Evans; granddaughter, Kinsley Gayle Ross; father, Allan Evans; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
