Wauneatti "Nita" M. (Hunt) Haynes, 83, passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at her home in Daleville, with her family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1941, in Alexandria, the daughter of John L. Hunt Sr. and Dorothy (Comstock) Hunt. She was a 1961 graduate of Anderson High School and attended beauty school. She was a homemaker and worked as a beautician and later was a waitress at Perkins. Nita was an active member of Elm Grove Christian Church, and enjoyed needlework and quilting.
She is survived by her three sons, Guy (Teri) Haynes, Todd Haynes and Joe (Dawn) Haynes; 10 grandchildren, Dustin, Amber, Ashley, Rayona, Jackson, Caitlin, Joey, Olivia, Jacob, Brandon; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Gary; and four brothers, John Jr., Joseph, Dale and Mark; and sister, Dorothy "Dot".
Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Riley Children's Hospital.
