Wayne W. Duncan, passed away at age 89 on March 20, 2024, at Bethany Pointe Legacy.

Wayne was born and raised on a farm in Swayzee, Indiana, on Aug. 5, 1934, to William and Alma Mae (Leming) Duncan.

Wayne was one of nine siblings. He played basketball for the Swayzee Speedkings and was inducted into the Grant County Sports Hall of Fame. He went on to play division 1 basketball at Mississippi State University. He graduated from MSU and was a two year starter for the Bulldogs.

Wayne then spent two years in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Virginia.

Wayne went on to marry his loving wife Jane Koldyke of Marion, in May of 1957, and were married 48 years and raised four children. He worked for Beneficial Finance Co. for 26 years, then retired from Star Financial Bank after 14 years.

Wayne also enjoyed his hobbies of playing the piano and the guitar. He even loved watching his sports, especially basketball. Wayne loved nothing more than his family and spending as much time with them as possible.

Wayne is survived by his children, Steven (Mary) Duncan, Lori (Jim) Hmurovich, Brad (Jill) Duncan, and Curt (Christy) Duncan; sister, Rebecca Nester; grandchildren, Allison (Josh) Green, Hillary (Will) Robbie, Catherine (Mike) Adler, David (Cate) Hmurovich, Christopher (Erika) Hmurovich, Sarah Hmurovich, Ethan Duncan, Rachel Duncan, and Chelsie (Peter) Booker; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Sandy Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jane Duncan; his parents, William and Alma Duncan; brothers, Edward Duncan, Homer Duncan, and John Duncan; sisters, Ruth Sparks, Orpha Jones, Martha Parrish, and Mary Pattison.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League, 613 Dewey St, Anderson, IN 46016.
