Willie Abbott, 84, of Shirley, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023.
He was born on March 29, 1939, in Wayne County, Kentucky, to the late John and Edna (Upchurch) Abbott.
Willie retired from General Motors in Anderson after 26 1/2 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, making walking sticks and working in the yard with his roses.
Willie was a member of Middletown Church of The Nazarene, Middletown Lions Club and UAW Local 662.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Griggs-Abbott; his children, Rebecca Abbott and David Abbott; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; siblings, Cora Eller, Jean McDaniel, Ernest Abbott, Lincoln Abbott, Lorine (David) Combs and Linda (Louie) Sayer.
In addition to his parents, Willie was preceded in death by his siblings, James Abbott, Leo Abbott, Fred Abbott, Christine McDaniel and Thomas Ray Abbott.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at Middletown Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Phil Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
