Wilma Jean  (King) Silvey
- Wilma Jean (King) Silvey, 93, entered in to the eternal presence of her Lord and Savior from Community Hospital in Anderson on Saturday, February 8, 2020 following an extended journey through Alzheimer's disease.
She born on January 20, 1927 to Cecil and Lenna (Favors) King and has lived in the Alexandria area all of her lifetime. Wilma had worked at Fettig Canning factory of Elwood. She had also worked in area nursing homes as an aide. Wilma was gifted in teaching the Word of God and shared a blessed gift in ministering to the elderly. She had attended several area churches including the Innisdale United Brethren in Christ church, the former Calvary Community Church of Alexandria and most recently the Community Church of Alexandria.
Wilma is survived by her extended family and her church family at the Community Church of Alexandria.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1978, her mother in 1990 and her beloved husband of 54 years-William Gene Silvey in 1999.
A service honoring Wilma's life, legacy and faith will take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Pastor Pat Robbins officiating. Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Owens Funeral Home after 1 pm on Tuesday prior to the services.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Community Church of Alexandria with envelopes available at the funeral home.
