Wilma Jo (Ulery) Carpenter Obituary
PENDLETON - Wilma Jo (Ulery) Carpenter, 92, passed away Jan. 7, 2021, at the Rawlins House, Pendleton.
She was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Anderson, the daughter of Joseph and Mildred (Young) Ulery.
Wilma had worked 32 years at Delco-Remy and her family was told at her retirement party by several co-workers that she was ornery and loved.
She was a loving, kind soul and will be remembered for her homemade noodles and cherry pies.
Wilma and her husband enjoyed spending time on the lake at Patonia Bay and motorcycle trips with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, William (Karen) Carpenter and Robin (John) Allman; grandchildren, Kenra (Mark) Kroz, Brad (Heather) Carpenter, Matt (Misty) Carpenter, Hollie (Lesley) Gindhart, and J.D. (Anna) Allman; 11 great-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Ruby Ulery.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, whom she married Oct. 30, 1948, Bobby Joe Carpenter; and siblings, Donald Eugene Ulery and Sandra K. Jackson.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rawlins House for their loving care and Southern Care Hospice for keeping her comfortable in her final days.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the governor's mandate, all visitation and services will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League, Anderson or the Madison County Food Bank.
